I rather came to own a guinea pig a month ago and am learning all I can to make sure hes happy and healthy. I recently decided to try and make a C&C cage for him since I don't believe the store cage I bought for him is big enough. However Coroplast doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I reside in the United States, Kansas of all places, so there aren't many places around that even carry Coroplast. And I'm not too fond of the idea of ordering it online either to be honest.

Though in my search for Coroplast I did discovered Mat Board. Would it be a good substitute? It definitely seems sturdy enough and its not to expensive, which is nice.

Just wanted to ask since I don't want to do anything that might bother my guinea instead of helping him.

is it waterproof? you could use a shower curtain or make a tray with wood and cover it with pvc sheet's or thick shower curtain with spray on glue

Welcome to the forum!

Plastic base is best for cleaning, here we buy it from sign makers, it's what they use for promo boards or 'for sale' signs?

Piggies are best with a friend, so if he's a single piggy you might want to make your cage big enough for two, and find him a friend - how old is he?

There is a US site about c&c cages... It might have a supplier list?

I actually believe it is water proof, its kind of an odd material to be honest, lol.

Really? Thats what coroplast is? It seems super flimsy to me, though I'm sure its easier to clean. The only 'sign' place around me though is a couple towns over and I'm not really wanting to do that drive.

And he is a single piggy, almost a year old I believe. I really want to make a C&C cage big enough for him and another piggy to live in comfortably, but I'm not sure how he'd react to another pig. Plus I don't have that kinda space in my room to make the cage as big as I'd like. >>

Alternatively, you could use cheap lino as flooring.

Hopefully, your boy will like a little baby boar for company?
