We just got our guinea pigs and we have googled what they can and can't have. We have found mixed answers so we want to know what you think of what foods guinea pig like and don't like.
Hello and welcome. Have a read of the guide I’ve linked to below. The staples are bell pepper, cucumber, lettuce (not iceberg) and coriander.
What you feed them depends on whether they’ve been having veg where they were if not, you need to introduce it slowly so as not to cause tummy upsets.
Pellets are the least important part of the diet and so they should only get a tablespoon each a day. Lots and lots of hay is the way to go, with a cup of veg each day.
Veg wise my piggies get coriander, lettuce, bell pepper and cucumber as the four main daily veg. I sometimes add other things if I’ve got them in the fridge but not always.
Make sure you keep high calcium veg (spinach, kale, parsley ) very limited and no more than one small amount once per week
