could not handle fleeces I seem to be washing all the time so I have gone back to wood shavings .:))
if you go to your local store ask for brokren bags/bales they are cheaper

I was using profleece which is like vet bed. I was washing all the time too and am now trying megazorb topped with hay. I have put newspaper under the megazorb. Will see how I get on with that for a while.

I've just changed my bunnie's litter tray, I'm using woodshavings in it until they've all been used up - my hands are dry and itchy and my eyes are sore. I can't wait til it's all gone lol
I'm using Carefresh in the pigs litter tray, but it would be expensive to use it for the whole cage.

I'm using aubiouse the whole cage and hay and it's getting riduculas with 6 pigs, £8 bale barely covers 2 months now. >.< they don't sell megazorb ANYWHERE near me. I want to bed them just on hay tbh like Paul does (rodentologist) but I've been told it's bad?

I'd love to use fleece too but i just dont have the time to keep up on the washing :( So I've found myself using my last bag of sawdust, I'm going to keep them on lino tiles newspaper and lots of hay! So i'll see how that goes...:)

I've given up on the fleece and C and C cage already :( you wouldn't believe how much they poo!I was a constant pooper scooper rolleyes so I'm back to woodshavings too. Countrywide is the cheapest I've found.

Have any of you tried Duobed. It is a mixture of shaings and chopped straw, dust extracted. It is very soft and nice for the piggies to lie on.I have had no respiratory problems with my large group of piggies. They have newspaper and hay in their sleeping boxes with Duobed underneath.
I give fresh newspaper and hay every day,and clean out all the Duobed every 3rd or 4th day. Piggies are living inside for the winter and the only smell is hay or reddigrass which they love.

Sorry should read shavings not shaings,my typing error!

I only used fleece for just over a week and it was driving me insaine! They seemed to poop more on it and in every possible place within the cage!

I have gone back to shavings as I had some in but also have a huge bag of easibed, has anyone ever used this?

With the shavings my girls seem to only poop in one corner :)

I've never heard of newspaper and hay being bad - the only downside I found when using this method is that you need to change the whole cage out from frequently. Give it a try and see what you think. With 4 piggies sharing I have found using megazorb or aubiose over newspaper with a topping of hay lasts longer. I change the hay daily so they always have fresh, but can get away with a couple of days of paper/bedding.

i did used to use shavings, but use vet bed and towels now and i do about 10 loads every 7-8 days of guinea pigs washing - it is hard work, but i dont think i could change back to shavings now.

I am currently using newspaper, shaving, thick layer of shreaded newspaper then stuffed with hay:)) My girls are outside, and I have found this really helps keep them warm (you can feel the heat when you open for hugs). Easy to clean, as it all goes straight into the compost bin:)
