hi, i am expecting some new baby piggies on the way and I am going to try using towels again for the bedding - I have loads of old towels and don't mind changing them everyday, as woodshaving is not cheap for me at the moment, with using it all for the hamsters as well, but i was wondering - if other people do this, what is the best washing powder to use? as I don't want to irritate their skin. At the moment I am using Fairy non biological. Would it be OK to use this do you think? Also if guinea pigs do chew a few small bits off the towels and eat them, is it usually safe, i mean do they usually poop it out OK?

I would use a non biological such as fairy and no softener as this impedes the absorbacncy. Good luck with future mimis :D

I use Bold tabs but there again I am allergic to all other washing powders.

thanks - i will just stick to my Fairy non bio then. Babies are expecting in about 2-4 weeks - just hope birth and everything goes ok :)
