Hi, I'll have to leave my piggies alone for about 24 hours tomorrow, from tonight until late tomorrow night.

I'm pretty sure they will be fine, but should I give them extra pellets to make sure they won't be hungry? Ill give them loads of hay, a portion of veggies, and make sure the water bottles are full before I leave.

Thanks

Should be fine, most important thing is hay, then 2 water bottles freshly filled before you leave. I've done it before, no problem pellets I wouldn't be overly worried about to be honest

Thanks, I'll just leave them lots of hay and water then

Extra hay is the essential. I wouldn’t leave extra pellets.
Maybe there is someone who could just pop in quickly and check that their hay is filled and that there are no obvious issues? But otherwise, leave extra hay and perhaps an extra water bottle

It's not ideal but needs must if there isn't anyone to pop in on them. Mine occasionally get left, usually less than 24 hours to be honest but I class it as 24 hours as it's overnight. Unfortunately sometimes life throws these things up short notice and it's not always possible to make arrangements. Pile in the hay for them so they have plenty of warmth as well as food. I only feed pellets once a day anyway so wouldn't give extra of those either.

Mine also get left for 24 hours occasionally and I just make sure they have 2 water bottles (in case one leaks) and piles and pile sof hay.
I don't feed extra veg or pellets and they have always been fine.

I do always make sure someone nearby has a key to our house just in case we were delayed for some reason, so in an emergency I could call and get them to swing by and check on the piggies.
To be honest if something bad is going to happen in my expereince it happens in a matter of hours.
I have had piggies go from 'fine' to 'rushing to the emergency out of hours vet' in a matter of hours. If it wasn't for the fact I work at home most of the time and happened to check on them at the exact right moment there could have just as easily been a disaster while I was actually in the house.

Thanks everyone, I'll double up on water and give them loads of hay
