Hello everyone,

Our poor, gorgeous Oreo turns 5 next month and has significant arthritis which is affecting her back and joints. Her posture is hunched, she has been hobbling along and her limbs aren’t as mobile. We took her to Cat and Rabbit Clinic and found one of her front paws is the worst as it’s “crunchy“.

She’s been started on Metacam 0.4ml twice a day a couple of days ago and she’s already brighter and walking more easily. She is even half climbing up the tunnel to see if there’s food on it, standing on her back legs. I’m looking for some Glucosamine for her as well to make her as comfortable as possible and hold off it’s progress as much as we can.

I wanted to check that these are the right products I can give her. And can I give her both?

Oxbow joint supplement. 1 tablet a day Oxbow Animal Health Natural Science Joint Support, transparent : Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

Feliway cystease cat capsules. Contents of one capsule a day. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Feliway-D7...00BWTP7QA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Many thanks for your advice as always 🥰 Compulsory photos of the floof.

Hi!

Either product will do but don't give them both. Glad that the metacam is helping.

We use the cystease as one of our old girls refuses to eat the Oxbow Joint tablets. They are quite large (3cm long and like a giant flat nugget) so if your piggy doesn't like them you will probably end up wasting them. The cystease tablets can be dissolved in a couple of mls of water overnight and then syringed into your piggies mouth (we split it into 1ml morning/evening).

Hi @furryfriends (TEAS) do you use this for arthritis pigs or bladder pigs? I don't know if I'm forgetful or just getting mixed up because it's late but is it the glucosamine in this that is the same stuff which is also beneficial for inflamed bladders?

After reading some of the online reviews about old dogs and cats leaping around like kittens I think I fancy some myself!
