Gizmo- the heaviest pig

That's a very large piggy. Maybe there is some Cuy in their breeding.

Very cute! He’s handsome for sure!
Though I don’t get why she says he’s ‘not even fully grown yet’..when he’s 4 years old..
Yeah I was wondering that too but maybe she's thinking that because he's still putting on weight, rather than remaining at a stable weight like most adult piggies.

I was thinking the same! I’m also confused as to how big the pig is it shows scales which were 46.50 on the scales which I assume is ounces making him just under 1.4kg which isn’t that big!

My Paddington was bigger, until recently when I slimmed him down a little, he certainly didn't crush any of his smaller ladies at 1450+g! 😅

Hes a very handsome pig though, I do hope his eye is OK, the right one looks sore.

I didn't see the decimal point and thought it was in grams 🤦‍♀️

We pig sit a Swiss boar who is between 1.7 & 1.8kg 1.4 is just a good sized pig 😂 I think people still seem to think guineapigs are 1kg when they come in so many different shapes and sizes!
And yes I think they did that on purpose he would be as big as a small dog at 4kg!

Our Oreo was 1.4kg at her heaviest and she was certainly not overweight - she was always just a more solidly built lady.

Yeh, I saw that too. He does look overweight and I don't understand the scales. I've got a 1.4kg piggy who doesn't look as chunky. Also I am a bit worried about one of his eyes.

His diet isn’t the best it could be either. I wonder if part of the weight is down to the muesli.

I’m thinking the scales are in ounces which makes him around 1.4kg

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought his right eye looked odd, but I thought it was maybe the light/angle and the fact he had red eyes, since I've never had a red eyed pig. The entire article is weird, though, and very much what I'd expect from the Metro. Saying she'd had another record breaking pig (longest lived) except in the very next sentence it said the record holder was over 9 years old and hers was only 8 and something.

This whole thing has a weird vibe to me.

At four he's surely supposed to be his full adult size, so why is noone worried about his continued weight gain? Is he really so big he needs to live alone?

I hit my full adult size some twenty years ago, and my continued weight gain since then has received a very different response :))

he could have some cuy genes in there.these are naturally bigger guinea pigs bred in Peru for another reason.some cuys have been bred in the UK and USA.They are usually very skittish.
