Does anybody have an issue between two females or had one?

My girls have been together with me since September now, there nearly 5 to 6 months old, there are space issues because the current cage they're in is a Ferplast 120 (still saving up for my 150), but they know the law with one another so to speak.

Basically i think Poppet is in season again, and she insistently harasses, rumble struts, chases, instigates little vocal arguments and persists on being an outright mare. Nuggit naturally, shoves her away, runs away (but Poppet follows relentlessly) gives warning nips and such, but the more she retaliates, the more Poppet picks on her and yet seemingly also wants to snuggle. (she's not a snuggly social pig!)

Now when Nuggit is in season, Poppet gets freaked out by her being confident in invading her space and gets nippy. As cage mates, Poppet is the dominate female, she eats quicker, she's stronger, faster and has a bully attitude but they both have there respective sleeping/snoozing corners and never cuddle.

Only recently has Poppet started letting Nuggit sniff under her chin and lick her ears - once or twice i've seen Poppet instigate this, and its adorable, but Nuggit clearly doesn't like it being a one way street lol.

I KNOW i need a larger cage so please do not insist on berating me on it, my home situation has gone from bad to worse in the past 7 months, its as simple as that. I cannot build a C+C, i'm currently bed ridden and have been for two weeks, the cage i'm saving up for is gorgeous but would cost me all of my living expenses hence, piggy saving bank.
I would simply like some imput into there behavior, as i'm previously only used to my boar who passed on last year, and he was not so hormonal =/.

Help much appreciated!

This is totally normal. I had the same problems when I had two guinea pigs which is why I got a third piggy to break down the dynamics.

There's absolutely no way i can take on a third pig, nor would i jeopardise another pigs health with the ongoing fungal problems between these two mallethead. I just wish they'd bloomin get on!

I had my last pair in a 120 cage & had no problems, it was plenty big enough. It sounds more like a personality issue, coupled with the hormone rush rolleyes

It's a shame someone can't make you a C & C cage, the grids are cheap from JTF Warehouses if you can get someone to get them for you, around £10 for 16 grids, they would make a much bigger space.

Maybe they need more stuff to distract them? Do they get enough hay etc to forage in? Sometimes food is great at distracting them, otherwise you may just have to bear with them until they get a little older & the hormones stabilise! :)

I'm living with my dad temporarily, so a C+C is a no go =/ he's not got much space at all.
Definitely a personality clash, my boy Skittle would have sorted them out haha, but they get mounds of hay, enough so much so that at this very instance, Nuggit has made some sort of defence wall with it :)) they have toys, they get fussed by my sister, my dad helps feed them. I can't do much myself atm, a thing Poppet has picked up on in the week because she's being extra shouty and cheeky bless.
Its like having teenagers in the house :(|)
