I know some guinea pigs are larger than others, BUT - Last month I was in a pet store (Petco) to buy dog food and GP hay, and there was a surrender guinea pig for sale. She was the largest guinea pig I had ever seen. She was at least three times as large as a large boar. She resembled a groundhog or a beaver, but no, she was a guinea pig. She was all white (not a fatal), healthy, luxurious short-haired, obviously had been taken care of well. She was just so HUGE! Is there a special giant breed, or was this a case of gigantism, or just an ordinary guinea pig who happened to be quite large? I know it is impossible to say for sure without seeing it for yourself, but have you heard of anything like this?

No! They just happen like that Haha! I guess you could say "Big Boned?" My Mum had one once the size of a DOG. And it lived quiet long too!:tu:

Maybe she was a cuy. Sadly they have fallen into the pet trade although they don't make suitable pets due to being very flighty.
