My c and c cage arrives Monday. I wont be able to move them in permanently until my husband finishes building the large shed which will be heated (to 20 degrees), where they will live. He keeps Koi and it will double as a tank house for the smaller Koi. Trust me if you think keeping guinea pigs is expensive, don't start with Koi! In fact it was was meant to be just for the Koi but the only way he could get me to agree to the huge shed was to allow me to have guinea pigs.

However I will set it up in the house as a day run when the dogs and cat are out of the way, and then hopefully I will get some pictures to share with you.

I ordered a 2 x 5 with a loft and if they keep getting on, I have 3 young boars, I will order a second larger loft. If they fall out, I will out order a second 2 x 5 and have flats!

Well the cage is huge and the guinea pigs love it. They spent about 2 1/2 hours in it and all made it up and down to loft before snoozing in a snuggle tunnel.
However one dog spent the whole whining, not good for our neighbours, so until the shed is insulated and heated they will have to continue living in their wooden hutch in the garage.

Off to Costco tomorrow to buy more grids as I want to extend already!

He objected to the fact they were in and he was shut in the hall so he couldn't play with them! He is a very vocal dog that the best of times. He can't be in the same room as he would stress them out too much.

Can you move the c and c to a bedroom then and keep the door closed?

Short answer no. The dogs crate is in one for night time and my parents are moving in when we go on holiday to the other spare one. It won't be for long they should be moved in by mid feb anyway.
