Gentocin (Gentamicin)

I have a query for you all.
Somebody i know just lost both her boars :'( :'( :'( :'(
Both became very ill and she was required to inject them with Gentocin (Gentamicin), she's now wondering if this has had something to do with their demise :'( :'( :'(
Does anyone know anything more about this drug? Any advice would be appreciated as i'd like to pass this back to her a.s.a.p.

Gentamicin is an amino glycoside antibiotic and is in the same group as streptomycin and has a known toxicity in gps.

I have never heard of gentamicin being used on piggies.

Maybe someone else on the forum has used this drug.

I guess the drug could have killed the pigs,but you saay they were very ill anyway?.What was wrong with them?.
