Hey everyone, I'm new and have joined as i'm planning on getting two little guinea pigs just after xmas :)
SO SO excited! I was just after some general advice really.
For instance, does anybody have any good, spacious hutch recommendations?
Through the colder months the piggies will live inside but as my flat mate is allergic they sadly cannot stay inside all year.
We have a small patio garden, completely boxed off by other buildings so there is no way any other animals could get in.
There is even a little roof type thing to stop seagulls (as we live in brighton).

Thanks in advance :) x

The minimum space for two guinea pigs is 4ft by 2ft, which is the standard most rescues will require. Please consider a rescue pigs rather than from a breeder or pet shop. If you decide on boars the more space the better! They also will probably need two of most things but definitely hidey holes. Not sure what to suggest that could be used both inside and outside wrt to housing as my girls live in. Please do not use shavings for their bedding as it can lead to respiratory problems, use either hay and paper or a safe alternative such as megazorb or carefresh or fleece whilst they are indoors assuming your flatmate does not mind sharing the washing machine! all the best in finding your perfect piggies and when you do put pictures on here for us to see and check out the rehoming section closer to the time!

Thanks for your advice! Yes we definately will get rescue piggies. Check out this little guy http://crawleyguineapigrescue.org/availableforadoption.aspx he's called Simon and he's lovely! If he is still there after xmas we would love to have him! Is it difficult to bond two piggies? as i know he will need a friend if re-homed alone! Also would he need to be paired with another boy or a neutered girl?

He is gorgeous.x) If he's intact he would need to be paired with a younger boar (spayed females are rare) but the rescue would be able to bond him with a piggy should they have one & if not there are other rescues to enquire at :)
