I'm bring my Guinea Pigs for their annual visit. I always feel that the visit is so fast like they check for mites, lumps, and a peek at their mouth and its over. Is there a list somewhere of questions or things to ask the vet to look at?

Thank you,

Andrew

Hi and welcome

No, we don't have a list to ask the vet. How old are your piggies now?

What you can do before you see the vet is having a good old body check yourself, including ears, eyes, genitalia and nipples (in both genders), foot soles etc.

We have lists for weekly health checks at home:
Guinea pig body quirks - What is normal and what not?
Boar Care: Bits, Bums & Baths
Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

Discuss any major weight swing and changes over 50g/2 oz during your life-long weekly health monitoring weigh-in.
Weight - Monitoring and Management

If you have older piggies, having their heart, lungs and back teeth checked as well as the mobility of legs and spine for signs of arthritis, foot soles (greater risk of bumblefoot), boars for potential impaction, eyes for potential cataracts, sows for ovarian cysts etc.
You can find information on common age related issues in this link here (piggie over 4 years or piggies with mobility or chronic health issues): Caring for Older Piggies and Facing the End - A practical and supportive information collection

Feel free to ask your vet to check anything you are not sure about.
