Hello again folks,

I'd like to give a huge thumbs up to Gavin at

www.timothyhay.co.uk

After reading various threads in which people rave about the quality of hay from his website, I made some enquiries and found out the farm was 20 minutes away from me.

I got a 10kg bag of hay for a great price as I saved delivery costs.

My 2 boys love it so hopefully it'll last a month or two!

I can't recommend the service enough!

I really had high hopes for this hay. Read lots of reviews and ordered some. I was so excited to receive it but then disappointed when I opened it :( It didn't smell fresh at all and only 2 of my pigs would eat it, even then picking bits out and leaving a lot. I had to sell it on in the end as I just couldn't use it. I almost want to try it again as every one else loves it, but such a hassle with delivery and selling it on if it isn't good again. Think I got the 2014 Timothy hay batch...maybe my piggies are just fussy but it also set off my hay fever more then ever, could barely cope being in the same room as it argh! lol Glad your boys love it though, I wish mine did as it's such a good price!

Oh dear....that isn't good.

Maybe contact Gavin....I'm sure he'd be concerned to hear it didn't arrive fresh. He was really helpful.

Yeah it was weird it just smelt like that stale farm smell, not sweet or anything. But surely it's all from the same batch so not sure what he would do...:hmm:never mind it was a couple of months ago. Just still on the search for a good quality and priced alternative...might try hay for lets meadow hay next as heard that's good :)

Do you have the address for the farm. I sent them a message after receiving a free sample of hay asking for it but they never got back to me. My girls loved it and Stirling really isn't that far if I know where it is x

I don't have the address however if you travel the A811 from Stirling to Kippen, you'll eventually come to the Kippen roundabout (where you would take the 1st exit into Kippen). Take the 2nd exit, continuing on the A811, and the farm is the 1st building on your left. When I was there building work was getting done (a new house I think).
