So Crumble is still eating hay and nuggets and poos look normal but still has a swollen belly for a few days and is a bit quieter than usual.

We cut out the veggies and saw the vet yesterday. Crumble not in pain but definitely gassy. Agreed with us giving him fibreplex but also suggested that as he’s still eating hay we could start to reintroduce veggies. Everything I’ve seen on here says give it 48 hours after symptoms have gone so even if he’s keen think that we need to wait. so not even a leaf of something or bit of pepper?

Wishing you all a safe and healthy end to 2021 and start to 2022!

I would wait until he has settled down with it. Has he got some anti-bloating meds or just the fibreplex to rebalance the gut microbiome after having some dysbiosis (overgrowth of the wrong kind of bacteria in the gut)?

Thank you @Wiebke just fibreplex and massage as vet said the gut stimulants were really for the small intestine rather than the large and as he’s still eating ok then not wanting to prescribe. Weighed him tonight and although he’s about 50g down on Sunday, that was straight after a bowl of veggies so around 30g + due to timing. Will weigh him daily and he’s under regular supervision. Supposed to be introducing him to a new boar friend tomorrow but will see how he is.

Hoping for a better 2022 for all! 🙏

No real change, maybe a bit softer. We added a couple of syringe feeds yesterday. Seems fussier with his hay. Maybe being paranoid so off to vets again at 11.15 as they will be closed tomorrow and we won’t have a car until Wednesday.

Still a bit gassy, picky with his hay and about 20g down in weight from 30th (different scales) but poos back to normal and lively (largely due to his new neighbour Ginger Nut - that’s for another thread!). Emeprid twice daily with the Fibreplex and hopefully he’ll be back to normal. 🤞
