Hi there. We're going to be moving to a new house soon with a nice garden for the pigs, who have had to live inside up until now. I thought we'd treat them to a nice hutch to allow them some fresh air and grass to munch on without having to be supervised. We've found the following hutch but I'm not sure it's 100% compatible for them.

http://www.dobbies.com/Rabbitshack-Double-48-Rabbit-Hutch-with-Excercise-Run/pid-396954 It's largely the ramp I'm concerned about. Partly the drop off the side but also the gradient. I know pigs aren't the most durable of things and couldn't forgive myself if they hurt themselves on it. All thought/experiences appreciated. Thanks. :)

Is it for permanent outdoor use, how about a triangle run or a hutch and run on one level. Maybe similar to this.

Thanks for the response. The hutch will likely stay outside, but the chances are we'll only have the pigs out in the garden unsupervised while we're at work or on particularly nice days. The rest of the time they'll have an indoor pen.

Thanks for the link, I'll have a good look when I get home.

Hi there. My piggies live outdoors in a hutch too and I was a little worried about the ramp at first.

I had to coax them up and down in the first instance, but now all four zoom up and down without a thought!

If you are worried, you could cover the ramp with some tubing, some piggies feel safer if the ramp is covered, altough mine have always been fine :) Another thing which may help is extra 'steps' and/or old carpet on the ramp to help with grip

For reference, this is the ramp in out newest hutch..

That's great to hear! The carpet on the ramp's a good idea too.

Thanks very much, I really appreciate the help.
