Gah..dad was selling something on ebay, the last one someone sold when for about £170. There were 30+ people watching it and guess how many bids there were...1 :-\ It went for £51..dads disappointed to be honest, if there were 30 people watching why only one bid? The person who won is 3 hours away and it's collect in person ::) but hey, we got donated it to raise funds for our repeater (I doubt anyone has a clue what I'm on about so I'll stop there :P) so £51 is better than it getting shoved in a skip I suppose.

Anyone else had disappointing experience like this with ebay or similar?

Ebay can work either way, I've had some unbelievable bargains. I'm into motorbikes and I get my leathers and other gear off ebay and they're always less than half price in the shops :D

I've given up selling things though cos I never get what other people got for the same thing >:(

Some1's bargain is another person's loss I suppose!

I still think you did well for £51 :) better in your pocket than their's!

Much love :)

Yeah, e-bay can be a bit hit and miss when it comes to selling. Sometimes it can seem like a lot of effort, including wrapping it up and taking it to the post office, queing for half an hour, to only make about 99p! but i've found setting a buy it now price to be a bit more successful, its all just a gamble I suppose, but good fun O0

alot depends on how clear your pictures are, how professional your auction looks like, have you ever considered having someone else sell stuff for you?

My sister did that a few years back, she was quite good at making everything look super neat, and so she put stuff on ebay for other people, and got I think 10 percent of what was earned.

The people still made money because do to her making it look professional, more people were bidding on it.

I agree with Abnoba, good pictures and a good write up etc really goes a long way - my Mom asked me to put a knitting book on for her as she thought she might get a couple of quid for it - it went for over £40! :o We watched a few after that appeared but they didn't go for anywhere near as much. I think it helps when you get a couple of people bidding against each other though if they're both desperate for it! ::)

Wow that is a bargain! Never been that lucky! I always seem to miss the mint bargains that had no bids and finished at 99p :tickedoff:

It is very addictive tho, I always have allsorts coming thru the post! The poor postman ;D

I bet postmen HATE ebay ;D :D

actually the postoffices are quite glad that ebay exists.

I talked to one of the girls working there, and she says now that you can do your road tax online, and people get their pensions directly on their bank accounts, there isnt that much work to do, they mostly get busy when its easter or christmas, or Ebay.
