Hi! So right now my guinea pigs are living in a outdoor hutch in my garage as it is raining but witth be put out when it stops raining... So my mum has ALWAYS hated fur... Animal fur was her number one thing she hated in the house... ( this is why my dog lives outside) and now that I got guinea pigs she doesn't let them inside anymore... Now I say anymore because I used to have them inside at night and let them run around until I went to bed since they were in a pet store cage ( 100cm by 60cm) Now getting to the point... My mum hovered my room yesterday and saw that guinea pig hair was all over the furry bit of the vaccum... That was when I was at school and she even took picture to prove it :( She said they are no longer alowed inside no matter how much we love them :( How do I convince her to let them stay inside as she never believes when I say something about guinea pigs for eg. Carrots are high in vitamin A and should not be given everyday, She said That is just nonsence. Help?

For the proof about information: get up a few webpages that support the same fact, that way she should believe you.
With the fur, just promise her that you'll clean up after them everytime, also if you regularly brush their fur, it gets all the dead hairs (which fall out) off of them, therefore there shouldn't be as much around the house then.
Does your dad or an older sibling who will support your argument live with you? That may help you
Hope it goes well for you

That is exactly it! 'There should be much' My mum has been really angry at me since I got honey because she is really shedding no matter how much I brush her and she kept telling me to brush every single little piece of hair off my shirt with a sticky wand thingy... I can't possibly vaccum up after every single floor time becuase that would mean 2 vacuums a day! Lol I'm a bit lazy but I would do it if they were let inside... And as for showing her online... I tried but she always says their not right even though she did not do research because I was the one that did it! :)

You could say to her if you're allowed them inside then you'll vacuum after they go back outside, that way you'll only have to do it once a day then everyones happy :)

I would ask her to give you a chance to PROVE to her that you can do it! And if she does you HAVE to do it and do it well. Vacuum for 20 min if you have to and then make sure you clean off the vacuum brush afterwards. You could also offer to do some other chores around the house that would help her out.

Tell her to at least give you a shot and if it doesn't work then you'll do it her way. But you at least want a chance. You could also toss in there that with all that is going on at home, the pigs help your anxiety and help you feel less stressed out.

Good luck!

You could also do what I do for floor time. I put down a shower curtain the plastic ones and cover that with a blanket. That way no fur would EVER get on the carpet. Then after floor time wrap the blanket up take it outside and shake it off. Works like a charm.

I should have added for floor time they're in a pen area so they have to stay on the blanket.
Maybe write your plan down on paper and have her read it. But make it very specific and then sign it?!?

I hope it works out for you also. I would love to visit Australia one day it's so beautiful. But my word I think everything there can kill you. I would be a wreck having an animal outside there even during the daytime.

Yes it is quiet scary especially when I see snake attacks on the news. LOL I would rather live in the USA or UK :)
