The GP I am interested in at the pet shop, has no fur on one of it's ear, and pink raw skin, and a little bit of a rip. What could this be, any ideas, he scratched from time to time so he might have lice, and he's not in with any other aniamls, he's also rubbed his nose-but that could be from the bars of the cage. What do you think? If I have this guinea pig I am going to ask the pet shop to send him to the vets free of charge, to check his health anyway e.g if he has lice I will get the treatment for him, really the pet shop should supply this-seeing he already has the problem.

Hi

Sounds like he could have some sort of skin problem - it's probably treatable but they shouldn't really be selling him in that condition. :tickedoff:

Be very careful if you've got other pigs as it might spread - if you do get him (which I'd think twice about) get him to a vet and then quarantine him away from your own pigs until he's in the clear!

Good luck

Sorry, didn't realise it was you - I've been reading your other posts about your hubbie not being sure about the pig! If you don't have other pigs then less risky, but sounds like he'll need some treatment

yeah sounds like it could be a skin problem O0 if you do get the piggie it will need either vetrinary treatment or some Gorgeous Guineas products or even both O0

our cat had a similar condition but her's was due to sun burn and we used tea tree spray on her ears and the hair slowly grew back. if hubby saids you can have piggy would ask the shop to pay for all vet bills and hoping either way the little mite gets vet help. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: good luck sending hugs and cuddles :smitten: girls send :-* :-* :-* :smitten: :smitten: sounds like fungal to me which should be getting treatment for it now. :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
