has anyone got any ideas on toys i could make for my boys , they seem a litte bored

i already saw one where you stuff a kitchen roll with hay ( is this ok ?)

Have you got anymore suggestions ?

Mine love the cardboard rolls from selotape without the selotape obviously, they pick them up with their teeth and throw them around or they nudge them and make them roll

Anything cardboard or paper is ideal. How about scrunch newspaper off and hide bits of herbs in them? Cardboard boxes with holes cut out are fun to climb in and out. Hiding treats around their home for them to find. How about a little soft toy suitable for new born babies? They like to play with them too.

With toilet roll tubes, you should cut a slit along the length of the tube to prevent any pigs getting caught in it.

Harmful?

Is there any substance that could be harmful (that I would put in thinking it would be a good toy, I don't mean like cyanide!)?

I've always kept newspaper away from them as much as I can as I assumed the print would be poisonous, but that is based on gerbil keeping. Can a guinea pig (being much larger) handle the ink?

From what I've seen so far they seem to have awful digestive systems, the amount they seem to have to eat makes them seem like Panda bears!

Hi there! If you live in the UK then the newspapers here are no longer dangerous, they do not have any kind of poison in the ink so don't worry! You can use news paper on the cage floor and even use it for toys. It will not do any harm if they do have a nip at it.

Two of my piggies are awful for chewing their newspaper floor! As soon as they find a thin patch in the hay, and can see newpaper, they're off! I tend to roll and scruntch up a couple of sheets and pop in there. Although it desn't always look very attractive, they love playing with it and ripping it up hehe
