Well Fudge and Peanut have been in a 2x5 c&c together since Tuesday after leaving their bonding pen. Fudge is probably about 4 years old and peanut is 6 months old. Fudge used to live with Alby (apparently same age as Fudge) they fell out as Fudge was constantly humping Alby. He's now doing the same to Peanut. Peanut is exhausted trying to sleep and Fudge won't stop humping him. Peanut was running round and round the cage earlier trying to get away now he's exhausted trying to sleep in a wooden log tunnel and Fudge keeps going up and humping him, Peanut squeals and squeals. It's a shame. There are 2 of everything in the cage. I really wanted this to work but I am thinking I may have to seaparate them as Peanut is so miserable.

I'm really sad for Peanut he seems miserable. Should I have just left Fudge living alone. I feel like a bad owner. ;(

He sounds like a very dominant piggy... Poor peanut :(
Perhaps fudge is one of those rare piggies who likes to live on their own better?

I put a divider in there and held it in place for 30 seconds peanut came out and got a drink and something to eat. Now he's back in the tunnel sleeping. And Fudge was lying behind him.

Things seem to have calmed down in the boys cage for now. Fudge and Peanut were sitting side by side eating hay. And Fudge keeps stealing veggies from Peanut. :bal:

I think I may just have to be patient to see if it's going I work. But I just feel so guilty when fudge starts his bad behaviour. Peanut seems like a very quiet gentle piggie :inn: . And Fudge can be a little horror :gd:. Lol.

:lol!:Boys will be boys. Sounds like Peanut is bearing up ok if there's no fighting. Perhaps Fudge has humped him into submission :ban:

It looks like it. It's early days though so I won't bet on anything. Hope they make it as a pair as I can't afford to take on any more piggies much as I would love to.

Well all seems to be going ok again. Peanut has got into the habit of squealing in submission and this seems to make Fudge back off. I have to clean their cage again soon, how should I do this as they are on cage liners. Should I put a fleece on top of their liner just now and leave it to get their scent on it then change the liner as put the smelly fleece on top? As cleaning the cage on Saturday started the humping frenzy.
