Hi All,

Hoping for some advice as I don't know how to get rid of fruit flies in my pigs bedroom area of their hutch. I had a through disinfectant and airing of the hutch at the start of the week. It was literally spotless. I know today has been humid but I still seem to have a fruit fly problem in the hutch. The pigs don't seem bothered and there's no signs that they are physically suffering as a result (they aren't scratching, bums look clean and fine etc).

However I really want to get rid of these guys. Any ideas? I never leave fruit and veg in the hutch uneaten so it's not the food that's attracting them...

Please help!

if it's mainly the bedroom area then i'd do a full clean of that daily, instead of daily spot cleaning and see if that helps :)

Thanks for the idea. I have been upping my cleaning schedule, but not to a full clean daily yet. I'm definitely heading in that direction though! Perhaps if I did that every day I might catch wherever they're coming from.

Just wondered if there were any repellent type tips as well...?

i know there are certain plants (and herbs!) that repel flies but can't think of them off the top of my head. sometimes cleaning with white vinegar and water in a ratio of 50/50 can help aswell.

hopefully others will have some more ideas :)
