I know the question has been asked before about frozen veg and the answer is not to feed it but if frozen sweetcorn is defrosted would it not just be like fresh off the cob? I have just noticed how cheap frozen corn is (88p for 1kg bag) and it would be great if they could eat it.

Sorry I have never tried it and any frozen then defrosted food with my piggies.
I will be interested to know what other members think.

PS. Got fresh corn on the cob with the leaves attached for my herd from my local greengrocer yesterday at 52p each. I was really pleased!

It only loses nutritional value when it's cooked. Frozen vegetables are supposed to be as nutritious as fresh.

Defrosted frozen veg is not suitable for gps.

Corn co0bs with silk and leaves are only 45p each in my local Sainsbury.

I've heard that you should NEVER give guinea pigs any food that has been frozen or tinned

I'm with Mary and Claire on this one. Frozen veg could upset tums too. My mum, thinking she was doing me a good turn gave my pigs frozen sweetcorn, spinach, green beans. But my pigs had the common sense not to try.

Having 13 I tend to buy things in packs that last longer and go around the herd a couple of times. :)
