The same thing is happening to my guinea pig and I don't have any money to take him to a vet. I'm only 15 and I really want him to make it. He is just about 3 years old as well and I have been doing the same with the syringe feeding but Was there any tips from your vet? Anything else I could possibly do to help him?

I’m sorry to hear your boy is unwell. I have moved your post to its own thread as the other is very old.

Your parent(s) is/are obliged to provide veterinary care for your guinea pigs given you are still young and have no means to make enough money to independently look after them. Please speak to them and see if they are willing to pay for him to see a vet. That is really the only thing that we can advise you to do.

If this is no go and they refuse, then I’m afraid (I know this would be very hard) you may have to consider surrendering him to a rescue so he can get the treatment he needs. But before you consider that, speak to your parent(s) and see. Emphasise the fact that the longer you leave it, the worse it could get and the more it could cost. I know that vet fees are already ridiculously high in US.

Unfortunately, you are under the age allowed to sign up for the forum. I will sadly have to report your post.

Good luck and I hope that you can get your piggy seen and sorted soon.

I have seen this report, unfortunately you are too young to be a member on the forum. You can still read the replies as a guest but I will be deleting your account with immediate effect.
