With the recent sad loss of Eliza and now Emma's eye injury, I haven't been able to inform you sooner.

As some of you may know, my piggies have always been outdoor piggies. Living in various hutches from 2007 and since the summer of 2012, they have been living free range in a shed.

Since then, we have moved house in October 2013. We did bring the shed with us. Since Christmas however when Eliza started having problems again and with the awful wet and windy winter, the guinea pigs have been living indoors in a large dog crate.

The day before Eliza died, me and Chris had a long discussion and he agreed that the guinea pigs could stay indoors permanently but during the nicer weather, they will go outside in the hutch that is currently at my parents house (They are moving up here within the next few weeks so will bring the hutch with them).

Now I know that some people are not fans of two tier cages but in order for them to fit in the only space we have available, it was the only option I had.

So, Emma, Erika and Enoch are now living in a ferplast 120 double tier cage in our computer room. I have modified the ramp so it isn't so steep and the ramp tunnel I ordered has arrived today and I am pleased to say that they are currently zooming up and down the ramp exploring the second level of their cage :) They are also having a lot more free range time.

I'm just sad that Eliza isn't here to enjoy it :(

This is the cage that they have

if they are happy and using all the space then i dont see a problem. Wouldnt add any more to the space but i assume they will have free range time as well. Chuffed you have decided to keep them inside.

Sounds fab. I had that cage with three pigs in but no matter what I did they wouldn't go upstairs. I put in new ramp with tunnel and everything. So glad it has worked for your pigs x e

The same person is also on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Red...pplies_Small_Animals&var=&hash=item3cdd053b11 This is the one that I brought but type in ramp tunnel as they do other colours too. I have just ordered a second on in black and white.

They make two sizes but if you needed one that was bigger or smaller, email them but the two sizes should fit most ramps. I ordered the 750mm one which is the smaller one and it covers the entire ramp.

They are also on facebook
