I have a 4 and a half year old boar called Bramley who is currently living alone. We adopted him with another boar called Pudsey but they had to be separated very early on because they were fighting (both boars are the same age and were aggressive to each other). Recently we paired Pudsey with a younger boar (the younger boars brother passed away) and that was successful so we now want to get Bramley a friend. Bramley is very sweet natured with people but I'm not sure how he would react with another guinea pig. Which would be better? A young male or a neutered female? (I understand neutered females are quite uncommon). Another option would be to get him neutered and put him with a girl but that comes with risks and I'm not certain that he would get on with the girl. I have read about boar dating, do you think that would be a good idea? Here is a picture of Bramley :)

Boar dating sounds like a good idea :)

I live in North Yorkshire and the closest rescue is Cavy Corner

Bramley is a gorgeous piggie! I had my boar piggie neutered at just over 1 year old because I felt he was unhappy by himself - so now he has two girlfriends for company. I have found that a male with female(s) is the easiest combination for pairing.

Cavy Corner in Doncaster is a very good place for boar dating. You will be in very safe and kind hands there!
I know Sue and Winston and have visited the rescue/sanctuary myself, as I usually go up to their fundraising events once or twice a year. They are a bit of an unofficial Yorkshire forum meet.
