French Class

Learning! I've been wanting to do it for years, but it's only in the last few months that I've been able to fit it round work. :)
Good on you.
And although I don't speak it, I think French is a wonderful language, and admire you for starting it.
My daughter says it is her second favorite language to speak, although it isn't one of her strongest.

I already have German and (passable) Spanish, so French makes sense!

Très bien! Ausgezeichnet! That’s pretty cool. I did well in GCSE french but forgot a lot (most) due to lack of use.

I didn't get quite as far as GCSE; I had an assessment to see which class would be the best fit for me, then realised I couldn't even spell my name... I knew it would be back to basics then!

Well you’re doing better than me now, so it doesn’t count 😁

Aw well done @HeatherW my knowledge of many languages extends exactly as far as naming all the animals, ordering alcoholic drinks, and understanding meal ingredients and insisting that I am vegetarian :) I can do this in french, spanish, greek, welsh, and ancient latin, and piggy daddy can do the same in dutch, german and urdu... just menus and animals not much else!

A good basic spanish phrase is "no entiendo" which means "I dont understand" :)
And I always love that llamas are literally named "its named..." in Spanish because European colonialists were really dumb :) I think its the same with kangaroos, aren't they named something like "what you mean that over there...?" in one of the aboriginal Australian languages!
