how do i go about fox proofing my hutch?
Ive luckily convinced my OH to allow the guinea pigs to stay indoors for a few more night as i am petrified some nasty fox will think theyre his dinner!
Does anyone have any ideas?
Keeping them inside is unfortunately not an option anymore

What's you're hutch like?

To fox-proof you need either a double layer of mesh or at least 16 gauge mesh though 12 gauge is best. Actually if you double layered 12 gauge mesh it would be lovely and secure. You can put a sheet of perspex over the front which is also good for keeping the weather out. To lock it you should use decent sized sliding bolts. If they have a run then ideally mesh the base - on grass this shouldn't pose a problem to piggy feet as the mesh will be flush with the ground - a fox can quickly and easily dig into a run.
