Rufus is the pickiest little booger there is when it comes to food and would literally choose to not eat over eating plain pellets. I know that technically the plain ones are the best but what in the consensus on this?

They both get peppers and veggies and ALOT of hay as well as the food mix, with the food mix both offered in a bowl and mixed in with their hay to forage for.

(Also cutie pic because I love their little faces)

Hello arent our piggies rascals 🥰
The Timothy hay is ok but the strawberries are a no as is the carrot - these are very high in sugar and strawberries are best avoided and carrots occasionally - marigold and rose hips can be fed occasionally.
Maybe try a handful of the different hays , readigrass etc
Maybe present the hay in different ways …in a paper bag, in cardboard tube as both can be safely chewed
They are gorgeous piggies ❤️❤️

I’d not feed it due to the high sugar items - strawberries and carrots.

If he doesn’t like to eat plain pellets, then simply don’t give him any pellets or dried food at all. It is the one part of the diet which they don’t need, and he is better off without any dried food than giving the food which contains too many sugary and unhealthy items.

My piggies are on a pretty much pellet free diet.
They get hay and a variety of veg every day and that’s essentially it.
On a Wednesday and on a Sunday, they are given just five pellets each as a treat. One of my boys loves them, the other has very little interest in them.

That is comforting to know that the pellets aren't required! Rufus is a stinker for sure but I love him. I'll probably order him some rose hip and marigold treats to mix in with his hay occasionally so that he can get those spoiled boy "fun bits" that he cares so much about. I don't have to worry about Badger eatting haha he will eat literally anything you offer him (in true piggy fashion).
