So, summer is in full swing, and the piggies have flies. I feel bad for them, (plus it’s nasty for me, seeing as they are in my bedroom!🤮) I have already tried leaving out a mix of apple cider vinegar, sugar, and soap to attract and kill them, but it really isn’t working. My dad bought some fly strips, and I was wondering if those were safe for my piggies. All suggestions welcomed! (I am now also starting a better cleaning routine so that should help keep them from coming back! )

Quick edit- they are fly ribbons

Are the fly strips scented or anywhere within reach of the piggies? Could you figure out what is attracting them?

I think it’s the canvas liner. It has started absorb odor, and now that they are here I can’t clean their cage regularly enough to keep flies out. It’s driving me crazy, I hardly ever go In my room during the day because I can’t stand the flies. But I don’t have enough money to buy them coroplast. The strip will hang just above their cage.

Do you poo pick regularly? And how often do you clean them out?

As I asked on your other thread, what do you use as the absorbent layer on top of the canvas part of the cage but under the fleece?
