I believe I may have posted something similar but couldn’t remember. I want to put my boys outside on the grass in their run. However I’m worried about fleas and flystrike. We get a lot of cat wandering in and out of our garden and I’m concerned about fleas on the grass.. is this possible? We don’t have any other pets for them to catch fleas from. Also fly strike, is it wise to treat them before putting them on the grass? Thank you

A number of things you can do for protecting your pigs from fly strike, my vet recommends Rear Guard, you spray it onto the rump of your pig, it contains the same main element of Xeno.

You could also try putting muslim material over the run to thwart the flies also. I'm not sure about the transfer of fleas but certainly keeping your pigs up to date on treatment is worth it. do you know if the cats actually pee on the grass? I think you can sometimes smell when cats have a preference to your garden, I know I could in my old house.
