Floortime! What is it?

Hi guys
I was wondering about floortime, I mean I am getting [building] a new hutch so I just thought my piggies would be fine in there all the time mostly. [except for cuddles and when there in their run in the summer.
But I have looked at a few things and basicly i have a couple of questions!

1. What is floortime?
2. If floor time is just lots of space and running around, In the winter when my piggies cant go outside in the run will I need to put the run indoors sometimes. Eventhough their hutch is bigger than there run at the moment!

floortime is just that time out on the floor as its different from the cage/hutch as it must get boring in the same space all the time. (even if it is a big space) somewhere else to explore and play in.

if they are going to be living outside in the winter then they cant have floortime indoors as the tempreture difference is too much.
