my partner has nearly finished building my babies conservatory ready for when i move in with him later this year ::) if he's lucky......

any way we were pricing up the flooring and god is it expensive :-\ just spent all we had on the conservatory. don't want carpet as that will get smelly ^-^, the wood planks i like would cost over 300 so that was a no go. partner doesn't want lino if that's how you spell it :D

vinyl tiles worked out quite expensive to get half decent ones.........

so looking at a cladding wood floor or laminate................. my only worry is it being really slippy. i know quite a lot of you have laminate floors, when your piggies are running do they not slide every where?

any ideas welcome, in part of the conservatory i want to put some chairs and on the wall a small tv so i can sit out with them :) :smitten:

LOL - if he's lucky! :D

Sometimes they slide if they are chasing other - but it's not often they do - You can get different types of laminate. The one in our bedroom is more slippery and has a more 'varnish/shiny' look to it, whereas the one in the kitchen isn't :)

did the one in the kitchen cost more tho ;)

mayb he built the conservatory for me to live in :smitten: with my babies, sounds good to me, only stay with him cause he's got big car to fetch my bedding and hay in and he's handy for fetching the veg, just sent him to shops to get cucumber 8) wish he would hurry up i want my dinner and he hasn't started cooking yet :-\

Wickes do some nice large floor tiles which are really cheap. They do them in a rough natural white colour, a terracotta colour & a slate grey. They're about 1ft square.

My pigs hate lino but I do have the more smooth surface - well when its clean, usually its pretty non-slip because its sticky!

They do for the 1st 10 mins or so but they soon learn how to do it and go whizzing around! some times if they are in a real hurry they run but don't actually go anywhere for a couple of seconds ;D

Not really any dearer. Only worked out more expensive cos the kitchen is bigger than the bedroom and is more of a darker stain :)

Only cos he has a big car... LMAO he does have his uses then?! :D

In my experience whatever you have in a conservatory (apart from maybe 'proper' tiles if you know what I mean :D) fades with the sun coming through the windows/roof. We went for a cushionfloor that looks like tiles as it was cheaper than tiling the whole thing, but this may be a bit too much like lino for your partner - although you can get some that looks really good. Our piggies are in the conservatory at the moment and the floor is really easy to clean - just sweep and mop O0

We've got this in utility room. Hubby was dead against getting it because it looks fake etc but I persisted, as you do!, and he likes it now. It is really really practical.
