Today when i was cleaning out my piggies cage, i let them out to play on my landing.
I left them there for about an hour so they had lots of exercise. Anyway, there was so much wee and poo all over the floor it was rediculous! :o

I was just wondering what other people due during floor time to maybe make them go in the same spot or not go as much? @)

My boyfriends guinea pig hardly ever goes the toilet when he lets her out to play.

Is this an age thing? or a boar thing?
Its makes me not want to let them out as much because the floor stinks!

yeah id be interested to hear the answers to this too as mine make a mess of the floor when i let them out despite the use of towels or newspaper which they dont use as a toilet aid but as chew toys!

try putting some newspaper down in the places tey go the most and they will more than likely go on the paper

I use an underlay of plastic with old bathroom mats or beach towels and some kind of cover to attract them; alternatively use a tray with newspaper and hay for toilet purposes.

Not all piggies are tidy, and you will probably still end up with poos all over. You could also time it so they are not digesting a big dinner.

i lay the entire floortime area with newspapers, and gilbert barely poops during playtime...so no advice here except for covering the entire floor with newspaper and then wiping the floor with towels afterward

I let mine out on the laminate floor but cover it with fleece/anti slip mat under the fleece so they dont slip. I also put a willow sticks tunnel and put newspaper under it and they seem to like weeing under that but they tend to poop everywhere else.

It easy to clean the laminate floor. But if i didnt have laminate floor i would get a off cut of vinyl and pop that down, it should keep the carpet clean and you could cover it with fleece and lay it on the carpet, it can easily be wiped down and the fleece can be put in the wash. :)
