Emily
Junior Guinea Pig
I have had my piggies since later November, but as of yet haven't really given them floor time, because they have been so jumpy! How is the best way to introduce them to being out of their cage?
I got them from a pet shop where their home was a plywood box with a wire front and no natural light. They were insecure without a curtain over their cage at first, but I have phased that out. They also didn't like having the cage top off, so after a bed change I've tried just putting their food in, with no hidey holes and no cage top and Spook in particular is getting a little more curious as to "what lies beyond the red wall".
I'm just wondering if I'm doing this right, or if I should make them have floor time? I don't like them being cooped up, but equally don't want to force them into an uncomfortable situation.
