Hi all,

I am struggling with floor-time as my piggies just sit in the cozy and refuse to move until I put them back in the cage. My question is this: their cage (C&C) is on the floor at one side of the living room, would it be a good idea to open one side of the cage and allow them to roam around the living room once I have piggy-proofed it? That way they have their own base to explore from and can run back "home" if they want to, rather than me getting them into a cozy and carrying it to the spare room where we currently have floor-time. If this turns out to be a good idea, once they have gotten used to me and trust me, I might go back to the spare room idea.
Ideas?

That sounds like a great idea. They can then come and go as they please.

I think it's worth a shot. My boys aren't big on floor time either but I am trying to piggy proof my room enough that I can do this with mine - though the one or 2 times I've managed to test it out they've just gone straight back in their cage! I'm hoping with time and familiarity they'll get used to it and feel safe enough to roam free.
