Hi everyone,

I’m due to move house on the 15th and the room that the boys will be moving into has lino and won’t have any furniture in other than their cage (dedicated piggy room!) so we would like to start giving them floor time for extra enrichment.

I want to wait until they’re settled before we let them have floor time as the house will have different smells that they will need to get used to imagine. How long would you recommend that we wait before we do floor time? A couple of weeks? A month? Because they’re boys and they already show a fair amount of dominance I don’t want to rock the boat and do it too early so that they fall out but I’d like them to get more exercise as I wonder whether it will tire them out more which means they’ll get on a bit better in their cage? However if floor time is likely to upset their relationship I’d rather know now before it’s too late!

I’ve looked at some previous posts about floor time that mention using their bedding from their cage on the floor so it smells like there’s and putting plenty of hideys, hay and veggies out to help.

Thanks in advance! ☺️☺️
- thought I’d add a picture of the boys below 😝

I would give it around a week, make sure at floor time they have their hideys and hay available as piggies need to feel secure. They hate big open spaces as they are prey animals so make sure they have their houses around to go into

We moved house last year and I gave my herd a week to settle before trying to let them out.
Unfortunately we inherited wooden floors so playtime involves lots of towels on the floor.
Hope the move goes well

Sorry @sport_billy and @Merab's Slave i didn’t seem to get a notification for your replies or I must have missed it! Thanks so much for both of your responses!

Do you think floor time is a good idea? Or do you think it’s likely to cause arguing? I’d love for them to be able to get a bit of exercise as I’m hoping it will give them some extra enrichment but I don’t want to rock the boat! 😂
