Heya guys! So, I descided to check out and build my C&C cage. I have it assembled, but the cubes are pretty big. I don't know what to do if the gap is too big. What if the future piggies escape? How do I cover the holes? Next question. Can C&C cages be on the floor? We might have no other choice, but to put it on the floor. And how can I elevate my C&C cage? Sorry for too many questions, I really need help. Thanks everyone in advance! xoxo

How big are the holes in each grid? If it's bigger than 1.5 inches, it's too big and dangerous as your piggies may get their heads stuck. Some have reported their piggies killed by the dangerous grids. See this link.

If you have piggies under 6 months, the regular sized grids are not safe either. You'll have to baby-proof the cage. Either by staggering the grids to make the holes smaller, or make the coroplast/correx at least 10" high. You could also baby-proof by putting cardboard pieces between the base and the grids.

You can have the cage on the floor if you want.

If you want to elevate your cage, you can use grids to make the stand or you can put the cage on a table. If you choose to put the cage on the table, make sure to secure the grids to the table.

Ours is on the floor, that's not a problem at all. Some people have done nifty solutions with their grids to create storage underneath, have a look through the photos in the sticky threads above. But definitely check the size of your grids, that's really important.

Lissie is right, we had tiny babies and they could easily fit their heads through the gaps so used mesh ones to prevent any accidents :...You can replace them when the piggies have grown :))
