Does anyone have a floor level c and c?
I'm keen to remove the base of our c and c to allow the piggies to choose floor time through a little gate, but concerned it'll be bad for my back and patting won't be so easy.

My larger c&c is floor level. I actually find it easier, as I can climb inside it to clean, so I just kneel down and don't have to stretch across. Same for patting - I sweep (or shake) a clear bit and kneel in the cage beside the piggies. They jump up on my knee if I'm not giving them treats fast enough.

Aw so cute jumping up on your knee! Is your cage 3 grids wide to get into? Mine is 5x2 currently.

i find it much easier to clean a cage on a stand, than on the floor.if you are fit and agile it should be ok.it will be fun for the piggies to choose wether they would like to come out of the cage for floortime on there terms !

I think it depends on how agile you are really.
I have dodgy knees so for me a floor level C&C involved constant bending becasue I can't kneel.
It was a nightmare so I put it up on a table and this has made my life much easier.
However if you can easily bend and kneel then I thin a cage on the floor would work fine.

Our C&C is on the floor, and we climb inside to do the cleaning out. It works well but there is some bending down or kneeling on the floor needed!

Thanks all, very helpful. I need to check how decrepit my knees are before I do a rebuild :-)

Rusty and Caspy love their doorway into the room. When this picture was taken they were sharing the cage with Red, now Red has moved into a cage with his own friend and the divider has gone it's much easier for me to clean the cage as I can get into it again. The corex is edged with file binders so when I close the gap a binder slides over and holds the corex back into place.

My "pen" is on the floor time and it isn't a c&c,they live in a high dog play pen thing (it was quite expensive, like $80 but I wanted them to have something really nice) and I just jump in to clean, however brushing up stray poops is always a pain because bending down of course is no fun. Sometimes I also sit in their area (if it's clean enough) and clean that way but yeah it just depends....personally I like a floor level cage versus high up

I have a 4x3 floor level c and c, my pigs like it more than a raised cage I think. I can get inside of it really easy and it feels more accessible for me but depends on the situation and space available I guess. Back pain-wise I tend to bend over if I am only going to grab something but if I am going to be there for a while I crouch or kneel.

Thanks for the photo, that is so cute and exactly the kind of door I'd like my piggies to have!
