I'd been wondering who was dominant in our trio of 6 month (ish) sows, they all seem to get along quite well with the odd rumble and bit of food snatching. They're out in the kitchen now and I just saw Pedro rumbling at Flo, then getting on top of her. Flo didn't seem to mind though, she let Pedro touch her face with her nose, then she touched Pedro's face with her nose a few times before popcorning and racing round all giddy! I guess she's been told and either doesn't care, or quite liked it! It was really cute.

Sounds like you have a very chilled trio of girls! Consider yourself happy!

PS: Mounting is also a sign of a sow in season. In a group, sows usually hump the sows closest to them in the hierarchy, preferably the one just below. that is the best way for me to work out the actual hierarchy.

@Wiebke Thank you, that's really interesting. I've read your posts on sow behaviour and found it really helpful too. Funnily enough, I'd thought Pedro was the odd one out, as she sleeps on her own and likes to eat on her own. She does seem to like the other two though.

Ok- so today FLO is the dominant one! She's rumbling away, keeps moving Pedro from every place she settles down in and chases her out of the bedroom. Then when Clover was following her she casually lifted her bum and squirted wee right in her face (Clover was too dozy to move)! It's hilarious!
