:tickedoff: I have a flickering left eye. Just today it has come on.. whats that all about! it is so annoying. i don't know if anyone can see it flickering but I feel a blummin' goon!
I occasionally get that. Once it went on for about three weeks. So embarrassing. Worried people would think i was winking at them. LOL
I actually don't think anyone noticed - well if they did they kept quiet about it!
I get that sometimes! I worry about other people seeing it too, and it drives me up the wall. I found this info on google if it's any help:
The minor eyelid twitching or flickering you're describing is called myokymia. It's an involuntary, continuous muscle contraction that most of us experience at some point in our lives, and it can last anywhere from several seconds or hours to days. Most of the time, this condition spontaneously fixes itself, but if your twitch persists for more than two months, a doctor may prescribe a mild muscle relaxer.
You should also see a doctor if the twitch spreads to other muscles in your face. Myokymia is generally attributed to things like stress, excessive physical activity, fatigue, lack of sleep, and excessive caffeine consumption. I've also noticed that this tends to be associated with changes in weight. In your case, it sounds like stress is the culprit.
Unfortunately, there are no treatments for this, other than decreasing your stress level. Take some time for yourself and try to relax. As a general rule, I think we should all do something that makes us happy every day, whether it's playing video games or meditating for half an hour. We need to make time for ourselves and the things we enjoy doing.
Maybe that helps as to why it keeps happening to most of us? :-\ :
I have had exactly this for several months. Luckily it hasn't spread to anywhere else. I put it down to tiredness, but stress is always an issue these days isn't it? :-\
I get the flickering eye too and was told much the same kind of stuff. At one point I had a twitching left thumb for several days but by the time I got an appointment to see a doctor it had stopped.
