Bought a nice red fleece from Asda today. I think it is polyester but it was only £3 and I want to get rid of the wood shavings as soon as I can, I am sick of it lol. On the weekend I will look for some cotton ones.

I remember hearing you need to wash your fleece to help any liquid whick through, how many times and at what temp should I do it? Thanks :)

i seem to remember that you wash it 3 times without conditioner. i also think i read that polyester is better but i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong. i've changed from fleece to vetbed myself and find it brilliant. you may want to try that at some point too.

I didn't even know cotton fleece existed! Pretty sure everyone uses bog standard polyester fleece, I did and it worked well :-)

Pfft I thought everyone had cotton fleece :(|) Must be the mattress protector that I know needs to be cotton.

Right so polyester fleece is good then. My mistake lol

So 3 times without any conditioner. And you don't tumble dry do you?

Yep its 100% mattress protectors you want :-)

I washed mine 2 x and it worked fine, but the more you wash it the better it gets .. 10 + washes and its at its best I think :-) same with towels the more they are washed without conditioner the better they are! I tumble dried mine every time :-) no washing line and no nice weather either!

Haha yeah that must be what I was thinking about.
oh you can tumble dry them? That is good, horrible weather here so I can get them dried nice and quick :) I was worried it would make them shrink lol

I tumbled dried mine on hot and they did shrink a little and my biggest fleeces went a bit funny after washing at 90 and drying hot (oooops!)

But fleeces dry so fast low heat would be perfect! Even throwing them over the banister they would be dry over night I reckon!

Lovely thankyou :) Not too hot then. Yeah they feel like they would dry pretty quickly even just hung up

Yep! My washer is only cheap but unused it highest spin setting and fleeces are just damp when they come out
.
