Okayyy. Fleece is giving me and my family difficulties. It is very porous. everything sticks to it. Annndddd this whole washing it before, so it wicks through is only good for the pee. So my parents officially decided that They will build me a bigger cage and a nice loft. As long as we agree to use Paper Bedding in the majority of the cage. Except the loft.

Do you know any brands of bedding. Besides carefresh. Ideas. Experiences. Wood Shavings too. Safe ones only. Give all you can any facts whatever. And also are there ANY other fabrics than Fleece. If so.. Tell me. Thanks. I know I can always count on this community whether finding info or getting it. In time.

What on earth? On one post you said fleece is a good idea?/

Yeah but then further experiences. Maybe it was different or depends on how my pigs behaviors are. Like one of mine are very difficult to potty train and tthey both love making messes. So in the end I start to have second thoughts. I do think that changing my mind all of a sudden is kinda not right, but stuff happens.

this is my cage with a kitchen, (yellow box bottom right corner) it has sawdust in and hay and food, there is a ramp going down to it from the top floor and a bridge from the bottom it keeps the fleece clear of hay

If you don't want to use fleece then I'd suggest Megazorb, you can get it from farm/pet/equestrain suppliers. Apparently Equiflax is even better but I've tried everywhere for that and just can't get hold of it so I use Megazorb in the hayloft and fleece everywhere else.

Alot of the dust free equine beddings are suitable for guinea pigs; perhaps you could check what is available in your area and people on here could let you know if it's suitable.

Personally I use Allbed and love it.

I don't have experiance of the paper bedding your parents are suggesting, but it sounds pretty suitable.

If you're hinting that it doesn't work for poo, you'll have the same problem with vetbed. Fleece and vetbed have to be swept/vacuum/shaken out at least once a day.

Thanks. Wow that was quick. I will keep that in consideration. Do they sell in *.S. If not that's alright. Just knowing there are other brands out there is good.
Are you in the US? You can use Carefresh, Purina Yesterday's News. There are also some other paper based litter.

I shake it all of onto the newspaper, then shake the rest off outside. Sometimes I need to hoover it as well but I've had no problems. can you use wood shavings?

Thanks. I'd actually prefer to avoid them completely. Thats what the shelter used for them. But I still accept suggestions or ideas regarding Wood shavings.

I use wood shavings on the boys sometimes and have had no problems. they smell a bit more than the girls!8;)

If you have a store called "Total pet" around where you live they sell wood shavings that are safe because I've used it with my pigs for about a year now and they like it. I think its cedar shavings it might be a differrent one, which ever type of shavings is the safe one because some are toxic. Its ten dollars a bag, not sure what it would be in pounds if thats what you use. Just ask for the big bale of wood shavings, its in the back of the store. You might be able to get it at different pet stores depending on what they use for bedding. Hope this helped! ;) :)
