Hello

I need giant fleece for my new C&C cage, I know a lot of you get it from supermarkets and IKEA but I wondered if anyone bought it online by the meter and if so what sites do you use?

:red Seems giant to me!

The biggest part is 140 x 140 not allowing for clipping up the sides.

I'm thinking you measured in cm ? if you did the largest fleece I found was from primark ( £5) that was 160cmx 118cm. I know its not quite as wide as you need but if all else fails could you sew them together?

Yes in cm, I think it will be cheaper to buy it in meters.

I have bought from this seller and the fleece is excellent quality

I haven't bought from these people but I think others on the forum have

I have also bought from this seller on ebay. The fleece is good quality (not as good as the fabric world fleece but better than cheap fleece throws) and I have used it for making beds and cosies.

It is working out to cost a small fortune for my new C&C cage! I have been pricing up fleece and it will cost £60 for two sets! That does not include the cost of liners/towels. It just seems to be never ending expense!

I love dunelm for fleece and now they have a sale on woo hoo

i use mattress topper's and your size cage it would be better to use them whole and not sewn to fleece i've been told tesco do 100% cotton topped one's for £6:50 for a double and that would fit your cage (they have to be 100% cotton topped) don't think that would all cost alot

I buy all my fleece at Tescos, they're 130x150cm ish and I try to buy when they are on offer, sometimes as cheap as £2. Usually they're between£4 and £6. I have a couple of superkingsize fleece throws too but i can't remember where I bought them... they're 240x220cm and can't have cost more than £10.

You are my hero! Thank you so much for those links, I have just ordered my fleece from there and it has saved me a fortune!

Ok I have just put the fleece down and it is a mess already! They have pulled it up and are cheerfully munching their way through the newspaper. Looks like I will need to get some clips, dreading the cleaning!

:)) Bless 'them, eh.

Arrrggggghhhhhh! I have had fleece in their bed since midnight last night and it is already filthy and needing changed! Surely it shouldn't get so dirty so fast?

Depends what you mean by filthy. It's never going to stay really clean. Are you spot cleaning as well?

I usually find that the first day I put it in, by the evening there are just stray poops. By the morning there is hay everywhere. I use a cat litter scoop and rake all the loose bits of hay and poop into a pile and clean it up, then change the hay in the litter trays. But the fleece won't look that clean anymore because of the dust from the hay. Day 2, I do the same but if the fleece is very damp I will do a complete change. Day 3, definitely a complete change.
It depends a lot on how many pigs you have (I have 3 in a 3 x 4 c & c), where they like to pee and poop, and how much hay they have to roll about in drag all over the place.

I think you have to reach a point where you decide what is a mess (and probably piggy heaven) and what is dirty and needs changing.

:)
