I would love to bed my boars on fleece but I don't think it's viable.

They are currently on a good quality dust extracted saw dust. I would like to introduce some cosy beds but know they would get covered in sawdust. Anyway of doing half and half?

:D I believe that there are some members on the forum who use two types of bedding in different areas of their cages, such as fleece and hay. But with a combination of fleece and any other type of loose bedding, the loose stuff will, over time, get carried onto the fleece. And most loose bedding like sawdust or hay is very difficult to get out of fleece. Also most Cosy beds are made of fleece which picks up loose bedding very easily. One solution might be to cover your Cosy beds with something like silk or nylon which doesn't pick up sawdust and the like very easily.
Why do you not think fleece is viable with your boys? Is it because they wee too much?

Mine are currently in a two level outdoor hutch (which is actually inside - long story) and I am in the process of making up fleece pads for the upstairs area, so I can trial it and see which I prefer.
The bottom level will remain Auboise on newspaper, with lots of loose hay for now. I am hoping that by the time they climb the ramp to the top level most of the hay and bedding will stay downstairs, and then they can have the top floor filled with lots of cosies and beds, without them getting covered in hay.
That's the theory anyway!
