I am not sure if I should switch out my bedding for fleece, or just keep the bedding. I have heard of a few pros and cons about both of them, but I don't know which one is better yet. Any suggestions? Thanx
Please do not be sorry for asking questions. That is what we are here for. You have to wash fleece three times in order for it to get rid of the waterproof layer it comes with. Washing it without fabric conditioner makes it wick water. This thread will explain all about beddings. http://theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/bedding-for-guinea-pigs-overview.114219/#post-1571918
I have both. My litter trays are finacard then their hay and the rest of the cage is fleece. Wouldn't be practical to use substrate as I have 15 foot and 20 foot c&c cages. The down side is the extra washing and drying it creates the upside is its easy to brush up poos as and lift fleece rather than scooping up all that substrate Also means I don't need correx
I love fleece as it's so much easier and less messy to clean. A quick round with the dustbuster and a shake before washing and I'm done. With any other bedding it just goes everywhere. It's bad enough that I find hay in unusual places (and in my hair!).
