Hi

After lots of reading, decided to try fleece instead of wood shavings but it stinks!

Have had to change everyday.....does anyone else have this problem?

I haven't had that problem I am using cotton towels and newspaper, and it doesn't smell...

A few people have said you have to wash the fleece a few times before using it did you do that?

Hopefully someone with more experience with fleece can help rolleyes

it could be you either need to change your washing powder from non-bio to bio and/or wash on a hotter cycle, min 60. However, too hot and the fleece will felt and shrink. I use a different powder for the fleece and wash at 50, compromise!. I can keep fleece on for up tp 3 days.

what do you use underneath? I have newspaper/shredded paper/newspaper and it's not always all wet after 2 days.

Hi

I washed it once when I first bought it, the next day it was smelling.

Underneath I put a towel, then puppy pads, then paper but now I just have pads then paper but its still the same.

I'm sure shavings didnt smell as quickly?

Hi

No I do not use softener, I thought it may be the hay but when I used shavings, it did not smell as quick..

I don't know what could be causing the smell. I use Fleece with four layers of cotton towels underneath. I change twice a week (but clean out poop twice a day) and haven't smelled anything but hay so far. I'm sorry it's not working out for you. I can't really think of any suggestions either....

i get 3 days out of my fleece but i did get a cheap fleece which i found was rubbish and smelt quicker! at the moment my boys have a primark fleece which is large enough to be folded in half to fit, underneath i have puppy pad towels(at least 2) then newspaper.i also have a litter tray with hay in where they used to wee the most
