I recently bought fleece snuggle sacks and fleece cubes and started using them last week. I washed them several times first to wick the fleece. My guinea pig, Lily, loves them and I think they have been comforting to her after her sister died last week. Unfortunately, after a few hours of Lily sleeping in them they smell really bad. I'm not sure if it's because there's not enough ventilation in them as they only have one entrance. Has anyone else had this problem please? I have had to take the fleece cosies out of the hutch, as I find that strong urine smell affects Lily's breathing.

Yes, anything fleece that gets wee'd on gets changed pretty much daily here. Hence I have masses of piddle-pads!
I have piddle pads in the snuggle sack and cube and I had to change them about three times a day, as they got so smelly. Since taking out the sack and cube, the hutch isn't smelly anymore and I normally use fleece liners. So I don't know if it's because there isn't much air getting into sack and cube making the smell worse. I feel bad taking them away from Lily. I have put a cuddle cup in there, but she's not interested in it as she likes to hide.
