I tried fleece once before but had towels etc down and found it smelled quite stongly - I am now trying fleece with puppy pads - has any one tried this with success.

I am also debating making some cage liners - I know lots of people use mattress protectors and fleece, would I need the absorbant layer with the puppy pads or am I just better cutting out fleece the right size ?

Thanks

Andrea

I use puppy pads with mine and change any that get wet twice a week.My cages don't smell but mine are litter trained (just about) for their wees. When they were in a cage had liners but now in c&c with ground sheet - no correx

Wish we could litter train ours.... we have tried fleece, towels, puppy pads, newspapers. We found the best thing was washable incontinence bed pads overlaid with muslin which were then hot washed when we changed them. However, after many washes the pads need replacing as they start to lose their absorbancy so it can be quite expensive and of course you have to make sure you clean the washing machine filter very regularly. We now collect newspapers from neighbours and change them daily.

Iv just changed from sawdust to fleece and puppy pads and am very pleased :) I find it a lot less messy than sawdust and not any more expensive..
Plus my piggies love it too :))
I buy a pack of 30 puppy pads for £4.99 at b+m and they last me quiet a while

I still haven't concurred the litter training either..
