Fleece not wicking

I bought some fleece a while ago and finally got round to washing it. But the thing won’t wick! I’ve washed several times (3+) but the water still pools on the top! Not sure what to do now as I bought it for the piggies. I’m at a loss

Yes.

Some types of fleece are harder to get to wick. Polar fleece is the best type for wicking.
